Release day for The Demon Inside Me!
Happy book birthday to The Demon Inside Me!!
This funny, cozy, sexy body swap romance was so much fun to write, and I’ve been really thrilled to hear from ARC readers about how they loved this novella. The core message of this m/m paranormal romance resonated with several people—it’s never too late to figure yourself out.
I genuinely believe in this theme! I’m 35, and I feel like I’ve started living as my real self only in recent years. There may be more surprises that I’ll discover in the years to come.
Self-love is also an important theme in this story. I’ve been intentionally keeping my marketing campaign for this book positive as an act of self-love, and it’s been SUCH an experience.
Look, I love writing, I love my books, and I love that I have fans who are willing to give me money to keep writing. But when it comes time to actually promote my books? I’m so quick to see all my negative qualities, and that poor self-esteem reflects in my marketing. Then I worry at all hours that I’m a total flop of an author.
Reminding myself that I chose self-love as a marketing concept? I make my promotion tweets and go about with my day without worrying about what I did. I slap some pictures up on Instagram, congratulate myself, and move on. Even now, I’m writing this newsletter, and when it hits your inbox, I’ll be doing something fun instead of refreshing my sales constantly and beating myself up for not being more successful.
(that something fun is listening to BTS member Jimin’s debut album on repeat and getting ready for the Trigun Stampede finale)
Being kind to myself has done wonders for my attitude with this book release. Hopefully, I’ll remember to always love myself a little and take pride in my work.
Colby and Zed are ready to meet you and show their own flavors of self-love.
Second Chance with the Demon is available for preorder!
Ready for a lesbian demon to show up and turn her burned out ex-girlfriend’s world upside down? Me too!
Crystal Barefield loves developing romance-focused video games at FlirtHoney, but her office is a trash fire of misogynistic coworkers and crunchy deadlines. In order to survive the toxic environment, she has to keep to herself and refrain from showing emotions. Her isolating lifestyle has worked fine for years, but everything crumbles when she reunites with the demon she wanted to forget.
It’s been eighteen years since Crystal last saw her demon ex-girlfriend. Meena still has a voracious appetite for food, fire, flirting, and making sure Crystal’s happy. Being with the demon again reminds Crystal of all the stuff she was missing in life, but she can’t give up her dreams of making games—and she can’t forget the way Meena disappeared so suddenly all those years ago.
When FlirtHoney’s CEO introduces a new direction for the company, Crystal’s career is at risk of going up in flames. Between an assignment that goes against her ethics and a charming fire demon melting her icy exterior, unwanted paths start to emerge. If Crystal doesn’t find the route that will lead to her happy ending, it’s game over for her dreams.
